Plans for 2007

Dear Members,

I have taken over this year as MTB Secretary on the Committee and would like to introduce a new system which I hope will encourage as many members as possible to go mountain bike racing this year.

At the recent AGM two major points were made: that there was a need to publicise the activities of the club for the mutual benefit of the club and its sponsors, and a need to encourage members to race in club colours. To this end I have negotiated a budget of £1500.00 to be used from April to September 2007 to pay race entry fees and to contribute towards travelling costs.

Here’s how you can be a Team Milton Keynes rider and reclaim your entry fees and a contribution toward your travelling costs.

Enter the mountain bike race of your choice and race in Team Milton Keynes colours. After the race reclaim your entry fees by emailing me the details requested (and a short report of your race) on the a Word Document that can be found under "Events/Results - MTB - Link to Claim/Report doc". I have undertaken to edit and draw together the reports, publishing them regularly in the local press.

The club will reimburse you for your entry fees until the budget runs out. If there is any money left over at the end of September 2007, the amount will be used to contribute to TMK MTB Team members’ UK travelling mileage on a proportional basis. I’ll post regular reports on the TMK website and show the diminishing balance of the budget.

It’s all quite simple really, so get out there and race.

During the course of the year the forum will be used on a regular basis to identify the races that Team MK riders will be attending. There have been a number of people expressing an interest in mountain biking and it would be great for the club to have a higher profile on the MTB scene in 2007.
