Team Milton Keynes Triathlon
TeamMK triathletes compete in a variety of competitions
ranging from local "Big Cow" events to international and Ironman
competitions.
2006 Achievements
2006 saw action in various arenas.
Long Distance
Seven went out to Austria Ironman with Darren Smith,
Jon Dennis, Duncan McLaren, David Abraham, Keith
Allen-Shirtcliffe, Toni Heap and Robert Collis achieving
the ultimate in triathlon performance, with Darren, JD and
Dunc all breaking 11 hours. We also had Jamie Hawthorne and
Paul Joyce completing Ironman Switzerland. Tracey Haseldine led
the MK women in the Cowman.
Finally we had Dave Brown who, as well as winning the
Cowman half-ironman and coming 11th at IMUK managed a superb 179th at
Ironman Hawaii in a time of 9.36.
Xterra
We had regular competitors in xterra events last year. The
crew included Mark Booth, Mark Church, Adam Teal and
Jean Limpitlaw, with Mark Booth winning his age category at
xterra Spain.
Olympic
Michelle Lee managed to win the age group national
championships on her first attempt, while also coming in 2nd at MK Tri. Also
during the year Abi Gooch qualified and competed in the World Champs
in Lausanne, while Jon Dennis, Robin Dowswell and Amanda
Schofield qualified, but were not able to compete for various reasons.
Adam Teal and Kieron Lewis were the top two from the club at
MK triathlon and Mark Booth managed to win the vets prize at
Ironbridge Triathlon.
Other
Darren Haseldine won the MK sprint triathlon and led
the way in the club open water championships, while Corinne Price
beat Michelle Lee in the same event as well as being our first woman
at Roade Triathlon.
TeamMK target events - 2007
The BTA national ranking events are shown in
blue. You need to compete in three to
qualify for BTA prizes. You will need to enter these events in good time as they will fill up
quickly due to their inclusion in the BTA series and being World

Triathletes join in with the cyclists on their club runs from
