Events/Results - Triathlon
Bala Olympic
Sun, 16th
Sept 2007
The
race contained a large field of about 750 competitors and was won by Harry
Wiltshire with wheel busting Stephen Harrison of Italy training camp fame in
2nd. The swim was shortened to 1k due to the choppiness of the water in Bala
Lake. However due to the water conditions the swim times were not that far
out anyway.
Run
and Bike splits are not currently available.
Adam Teal was looking for worlds qualification and produced a
competitive performance to come 6th in the G category. This may well
qualify? Dave Chapman looks like he struggled in the swell (maybe
needs to come on the Italy training camp where the sea provides a good swell
for practicing in), but recovered with a stronger bike leg and a zippy run leg to finish
in 127th. Veteran Phil Bilton raced solidly with a good run leg
taking him to 186th position, while Marcus
Whelband currently on holiday in Wales, was 292nd, having competed in
quite a number of event recently, including 2nd in the 6 day Tour of MK
running race.
