Team MK Season Starter Races

The second of the Team MK Season Starter races is 20th March.

Theses races are a great way to kick off the road season either as a rider, volunteer or both with a variety of race covering all abilities and ages. This year, by popular demand, we have added a Novice race for 4th category and non-licence holders to give an easy entry level race for those new to road racing.

A5 Rangers CC Open 15m/31m and 10m

You need to enter open time trials 2 weeks ahead so it is decision time this week.

These are local events north of Towcester or on the A43 near Silverstone. Usually a few TMK riders take up the challenge - I've even remembered to enter this year.

A weekend of time trialling, 15m or 31m on the Saturday and 19m on the Sunday.

At the Roy Thame Cup & Spring Chicken road races Team MK is fielding a team of no less than seven.

MK Half Marathon

A lovely sunny, dry day greeted the runners at this years MK ½ marathon run from Xscape in the city centre for the first time. A healthy number of Team MK members turned out and did very well posting some impressive times on a fast course (if you don’t count the last mile).

Team Keyne AGM - Sunday 14th March

The Team Keyne AGM will be at 7pm on Sunday 14th March at the MK Bowl Clubhouse. The meeting will be covering the forthcoming racing season, the Wed evening Youth Challenge, coaching, British Cycling initiatives and is also for you to help shape the future direction of Team Keyne.

Anyone interested in getting involved is welcome whether you are a parent or club member

TT Result - North Road Hardriders

Wet suits were more appropriate than skin suits for this Wetriders events and 3 TMK riders took up the challenge with Mike Wragg leading our trio home followed by Steve Torley and vet Richard Ashton. Another nameless TMK rider decided that it was better to give it a miss and keep dry.

This Saturday 27th Feb there will be a 48mile bike followed by an 8 mile run. from Body Limits using the same route as last time.

Road Race Coaching Tuesday Night - CANCELLED (weather)

At the Bowl, 6:30 in the clubhouse for a briefing.

Down here in South Bucks the weather is bad at the moment.

I will report in with a "yes" or "no" by tomorrow 1pm, but assuming it goes ahead:

Brickhill Challenge - cancelled due to snow

The NBRC Reliability trial was unfortunately cancelled due to the heavy snow. fall between about 0600 and 0900 on Sunday morning dropping about 2 inches of snow at the top of the Brickhills. Cars were getting stuck up there.

Big Cow Duathlon 1

Membership Renewal Reminder

30 Club have pre-entered the Brickhill Challenge and hopefully 7 of these have renewed their membership since 2nd February (has been clarified by 21 Feb that 5 have) otherwise they will not be covered by the club insurance - one of the many benefits of membership.

Reminder that membership runs from 1st Jan to 31st Dec.
