TT: London Millenium Trophy - Final Round - Win for Helen Boatman in race & series

With only Geoff Perry & Helen Boatman riding the final round with 3 riders counting for the team event, TMK where overtaken by Team Welwyn who threw 3 teenagers in into the mix in the Team Competition.   The final round was on a perishing cold Sunday morning on the F16/10 a 10 mile time trial course but considering the steep climb in the middle of each leg it could easily be described as a 10m Hill Climb.  At least it was dry with no wind.

Team Series Competition

With the last rider being guaranteed at least 105 points Welwyn easily made up the 10 point (place) deficit on TMK, with 150 points for first place, 149 for 2nd etc stc.  Of course there was no certainty that all their 3 riders would turn up and finish and one of their riders had a fair go at b******* it up with a 9 minute late start. Might be worth a check of the rules to see if a later starter is allowed to start after the last rider by what looks on the face of it by 6 minutes?

If only 2 of their riders had ridden it would have been a close call and the TMK riders came up with the goods with both Geoff & Helen beating the times of all 3 Team Welwyn riders.

Geoff did 25-42 and Helen 26-15, to win the Ladies prize.  Their riders achieved 26-32, 27-59 and 33-36 with a 9min late start.

Womens Series Competition

As previously posted, Helen had already wrapped up the Womens competition, but rode and was the fastest lady ahead of Sue Fenwick (Crest CC).

Vets Series Competition

Steve Clarke (Team MK) did not need to ride as his 3rd place in Vets series competition was assured,  because none of his 3 ‘mathematical’ competitors rode this last round.

Senior Series Competition

1st place  in the Mens series had already been wrapped up by Luke Clarke (Team MK) and he did not need to ride.

Prior to this round Simon Cannings was in 3rd place & James Fox in 4th place, but both their positions were in jeopardy if Jonathan Schubert (Veralum CC) achieved 4th place or better.  He was actually 3rd fastest in 23-49 so this will have bumped Simon Cannings down to 4th overall and James Fox down to 5th overall.

Gary Empson (API Metrow) was fastest in 22-42, so it is not a fast 10 course, which uses part of the F1/12hour course.
