Announcement : ROAD RACE COACHING (updated 9 Feb) -- IT'S ON!

Tuesdays 9th and 23rd February 2010 at the MK Bowl

When:                  Tuesdays 9th and 23rd February 2010

Where:                 MK Bowl

Time:                    6.30 at the Bowl hut – for a briefing, then ready to roll

We are running two “introduction to road racing” coaching sessions, aimed at any club members (male or female) who are thinking of having a go at road racing this year.  These will be run by myself Mike Wragg (1st category racer, winner of one Elite race last year and podium in five others) and a qualified club coach as well – see below.

They will be a perfect introduction before racing gets underway on Saturday 6 March with the club’s first Season Starter races see links below.

The sessions will start with a few minutes’ briefing, before heading out for a training session on the Bowl circuit, over standard criterium distance - 1 hour plus 5 laps.  These two sessions are NOT aimed at making you fitter – they will teach you the tricks of riding in a road race scenario, and using my experience we will set you up to give racing your best shot.  Don’t be daunted, either – we won’t be going at full gas or anywhere near it – I’m going to teach you how to race.  You already know how to train!

You will need LIGHTS on your bike, and a HELMET.  Drop me a line on the forum post or at mike...@hotmail.com, or just turn up on the night.  It’s free to club members, of course.

Update: MUDGUARDS would be welcome too!

Update:  Stuart Sargeant will be joining me - Stuart is a very experienced racer, and a British Cycling qualified coach to boot - so he knows what he's talking about!
