A Busy Few Weeks Ahead for the Road Team

Thi Sunday is the AW Cycles RR at Woodcote near Reading.  James Fox, Paul Londors, Rich Wood & Mike Wragg are entered in the Elite race (120km, starting at 9.45), with Peter Robinson entered in the support race (80km, starting at 10.15).  This course features a steep climb followed by a long draggy section, and a long fast descent requiring an 11 sprocket.

On the Saturday and Sunday of the following Bank Holiday weekend is the Nigel Measom Stage race in Leicestershire, a favourite of the Team.  Saturday sees a road stage followed by a time-trial stage in the afternoon, both starting from Gilmorton, with the concluding road stage on Sunday, which starts from Tur Langton.

And finally, on the following Sunday (11 May) Paul and Mike have secured a ride in the Lincoln Grand Prix Premier Calendar event.  With the cancellation of the local Archer Grand Prix, this is their introduction to Premier Calendar racing, and what an introduction it will be. The race is over eight laps of a route including the closed roads of the city centre and the 1 in 6 cobbled climb of Michaelgate, and the start sheet reads like a who’s who of British road racing.  The British Cycling preview is HERE:
