Lee Goodman reports on his 11th place
Kilworth Springs FNSS 20th June
Before starting I knew this course wasn’t for me very fast with no technical sections.
With Mountain Mayhem on I thought there would be fewer riders but not the case.
I decided to learn from my mistakes a couple of weeks ago where I sat back at the start, this time I absolutely went for it in order not to get tangled up with other riders. This worked I was leading the race coming out of the first corner, I pushed as hard as I could to split the train that was forming behind me. Still leading at the end of the first lap, I eased off to allow someone else go through and work however 10 people came through before I could tag onto a wheel so my hard work had had no effect apart from wearing myself out. Although I never let the front runners out of my sites I couldn’t hold the pace for the next 5 laps and then on the last lap my pedal came undone so exhausted and having to do one leg drills to the finish I managed a pretty good 11th place.
