Welcome to the Off Road section of the Team Milton Keynes web site. The aim of this section is to provide you with information on Off Road riding within the club and encourage further participation within the sport. For 2010 we want to continue growing the club interest in Off Road riding through weekly club rides and event entries.

Weekly Club Rides:
There are weekly club rides each Thursday around Woburn, and during the autumn and winter on Saturday mornings the Triathlon section also run and ride around Woburn (but you are welcome to just ride) – see calendar and forum for details.
Events:
In order to increase the awareness of the club and it’s sponsors we are continuing to re-imburse Off Road race entry fees (for up to 4 races per person) for any First Claim member of Team Milton Keynes (this means that Team MK is the primary club for which you race). All you need to do is enter the mountain bike race of your choice and race in Team Milton Keynes colours. After the race reclaim your entry fees by emailing the event details and a short race report on this form /files/u42/Mountain_Bike_Race_Report_2010.doc to John Muncaster at john.muncaster@googlemail.com. The reports will be pulled together and published on the web site and local press. The club will reimburse First Claim members entry fees (to a limit of 4 races per person) until the budget runs out.

Friday Night Summer Series:
FNSS has been running since the summer of 1992, when local clubs in the midlands got together to create a mountain bike series, promoting a race each at their local off-road cycling venue. In 2010 the series is stronger than ever, and having run for 18 years has provided both enjoyment and a springboard to higher racing for many riders. Although a “local series for local racers” many Elite cyclists have dabbled in the events over the years.

There are 11 counting rounds, and for people who want to try to win a prize in the whole series you will need to enter 6 scoring races with a 7th result being used as a tie breaker if required. However, you can enter as many or as few as you like as individual events, with separate awards being given for each race. You don't need a racing licence to take part.
