Poppy Kisley (Wolfox CAMS Le Col RT), Elaine Simpson (Team FTP Fusion) and another former Queen of the Bowl Alexandra Hamilton (London Dynamo) fought it out on a lovely evening at the iconic National circuit. A smooth pace throughout right up until 5 laps to go when it all kicked off… until the cat and mouse games started and lasted for the remaining laps! Kisley proved that her little off the week prior was not going to stop her taking the win, but just behind there was more drama when Simpson and Hamilton finished in a proper dead heat.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1. These riders would potentially regret the double header, but we applaud their efforts nonetheless. The 4th cat race stayed mostly together and it wouldn’t be until the sprint that Jake Stuchbury (Cambridge University) showed his sprint prowess by easily taking the win, with Sam Robinson happily taking second place.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1. This week they were started just before the E/1/2/3 race, going clockwise out onto the East Car Park loop. The Elite race caught them very quickly which lead to the 3/4 riders having to sit up to let them go passed. The majority of the race saw various attacks but it mostly stayed together until the finale.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs the bell rang for the last lap, tension rippled through the peloton. Attacks were neutralised almost immediately, leading to a high-speed bunch sprint. Timing and positioning proved decisive.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLocal favourite Steve Mason (Team Milton Keynes) used his course knowledge to perfection, launching a well-timed sprint and taking a commanding victory, clocking a time of 1:00:37 after 28 laps of racing. Hot on his heels was James Riley (Reading CC), just 0.22 seconds behind, showing an impressive sprint kick for second place. For Hales, it was yet another confidence boost after a hard-fought ninth in Sheffield the evening before.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom the outset, the race was animated with aggressive racing, driven by teams such as Ride Revolution Coaching, TRASH MILE, Gapped Race Team, and Team PB Performance. The pace was relentless, with constant reshuffling at the front as breakaway attempts were launched and neutralised.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHales easily took the sprint win with Thomas Timberlake (TRASH Mile) holding on for a strong second place, just 0.19 seconds back, while Hudaifa Cox (Gapped RT), who recently upgraded from a 3rd category licence, rounding out the podium in third.
